John Henry Newman: An introduction to his life and the development of his thoughts is an evening of exploration with Monsignor Rod Strange (pictured) leading scholar of the life and thought of St John Henry Newman It takes place at 7:30pm – 9.00pm on Thursday 16 April 2026 at Mayfield Salisbury Church, 18 West Mayfield, Edinburgh, EH9 1TQ All welcome: entrance by donation – £5 proposed About Mgr Roderick Strange Mgr Rod Strange is a prominent Catholic priest, theologian, and author, recognised as a leading expert on John Henry Newman. He is a Professor of Theology at St Mary’s University, Twickenham, former Rector of the Pontifical Beda College in Rome, and a regular columnist for The Times. Among his works are Newman and the Gospel of Christ (1981) and John Henry Newman: A Mind Alive. Event organised by the Edinburgh Circle of the Newman Association.
