Migration Matters: Closing Party

Celebrate the final night of Migration Matters Festival 2026 with an electric night of music, community and good times. This Sheffield festival is the biggest Refugee Week event of its kind in the UK, taking place over nine days in the city from June 19-27. The final live music headline act for the closing party will be announced soon, but you can already expect: Mim Suleiman Mim Suleiman has been described as the Mama Africa of the modern era. A boundary-crossing performer who defies categorisation, she reaches deep into her East African heritage to blend traditional Taarab vibes with dub, jazz, soul and funk.A gifted composer and songwriter in both English and Swahili, she sings in a variety of languages and her versatile and charismatic presence have led to collaborations with some of the biggest names in Africa and the diaspora. DiaspoRIDDIM DiaspoRIDDIM returns to Migration Matters Festival 2026 after last year's massively successful debut, where guest DJs Lyla (Pakistan), Chook Ly (Cambodia/Vietnam/France), and the Beirut Groove Collective (Lebanon) alongside local talent Kom Kom(British-Khmer), Palanca Negra (Angola/Portugal) and DisOrientalist (Pakistan), brought us the most dancefloor shaking borderless mixes.This is club culture at its most boundary-breaking: a night where artists whose identities have been shaped by migration bring together traditional sounds and future seeking electronica.
