Joseph Haydn’s string quartet The Seven Last Words from the Cross was specially commissioned for performance on Good Friday at a church in Spain, in 1786. Violinists Helen Ayres, Niki Vasilakis, violist Michael Stepniak, and cellist Tom Marlin join with the Choir of Queen’s College, Melbourne, directed by Will Fellows, and the St Peter’s Cathedral Choir, directed by Anthony Hunt.
