12th & 13th September 10.00am – 4.00pm Heritage Weekend The Museum will be open free of charge over the weekend for the Heritage Open Days, where some Museums and other places of local interest are open to the public free of charge (please look for the logo). The theme for this year is ‘ Everyday Histories of Working Lives’ and we will be reflecting through pictures and stories of how power has impacted working lives through the ages.  We will also have some interactive activities and crafts for children and young at heart to enjoy. We will also proudly be one of the venues hosting the Maldon Art Trail, with new pieces of art being held within our Reception area and main galleries. The Museum will be and last entry to visitors is 3pm. As with all venues taking part in the Heritage Open Days, admission into the Museum is FREE. FREE ENTRY to this event. Astaria OPEN Minature Railway OPEN closing 3.00 pmThe train rides are subject to a small charge of £2 per adult and £1 per child ‘Marshall’ the Lilleshall pumping engine will be run by compressed air and other oil / diesel engines will be running. Kids entry is FREE. We endeavour to get all activities and rides also FREE for children to do acquiring sponsorship from local companies to support this day for the community. To add to the excitement, the theme for the day is ‘Sports and Games’, where everything will be to do with all different types of exciting and intriguing physical and mind sports and games. Entertainment and activities will be taking place on the stage, together with themed stalls, craftsm food and much more. Sunday 5th July 10.00am – 4.00pm Langford & Ulting Country Fayre & Classic Car Show Going back to the good old days of country fayres and celebrating  ‘Everything Local’,  with exhibits of agriculture and horticulture, arts and crafts by local crafters and artists, classic cars, entertainment , rides and activities.  There will also be a fun dog show where prizes and rosettes are given for various classes. Come and see around 200 motorbikes on our events field including Classic Vintage Modern and Customised Motorbikes, Touring Displays, Trial Demonstrations, Club Stands, crafts and trade stalls, food stalls and bar.  Competition for best in show for a variety of categories. Live music and entertainment will be taking place on the stage. Dogs are very welcome in all areas but must be kept on a lead.
