The Scrabble Club meets on Friday afternoons from 1.30-3.30pm. It’s a friendly group of average abilities who just like to play Scrabble. All welcome!

Saturday Art Group

There’s an Art Group at the library on Saturday mornings from 10am – 12noon. Bring your own materials – people of all abilities are welcome. There’s no teaching involved, just come along and draw or paint in good company. This is a free group but donations to help our running costs are always welcome.

Saturday Mah Jong Club

The Mah Jong Club meets on Tuesdays from 1.30 – 3.30pm and on Saturdays at 10.15am – 12.15pm. We also hold beginners classes from time to time. If you’d like to learn to play just let us know.

On Saturday mornings there is a drop-in Lego Club for 5-12 year olds, from 10.30am – 12 noon. Because of its popularity during the holidays we’ve decided to make it a permanent event in the library.

Reiki with Sue

Reiki with Sue is on Mondays in the library, term-time only, between 10am – 12pm. A donation of £2+ for a 15 minute session would be appreciated. Reiki is a type of energy healing. Reiki practitioners like our volunteer, Sue, believe that improving the flow of energy around the body can enable relaxation, relieve pain, speed healing and reduce other symptoms of illness. During a session the client will sit in a comfortable chair, in a quiet area, fully clothed.

Poetry Appreciation Group

The Yorkshire Coast Poetry Appreciation Group meets in the library on the 2nd Friday of the month from 2.00-3.30pm. Do come along if you like poetry – you won’t be expected to read a poem or even to speak if you don’t want to! Just enjoy the selection.
