Saturday 22nd August 1.30-4.30pm PWYC £15/20/25 Join illustrator, naturalist and Calder Valley local Melissa Davie (Hey Nature) for a Nature Notebooking session from In A Land Studios, Hebden Bridge. Together, we'll take a short walk and explore Calderdale's landscape through the eyes of a naturalist. Mel will invite you to observe the plants around us, to slow down, look closely and "get to know" them. We will find a spot to sit, create sketches and record our observations in the style of field notes in our Nature notebooks. Then, back at the studio, there will be time to reflect on our observations, explore botanical reference materials and develop our artwork. No drawing experience is necessary, just curiosity and an interest in Nature! Please bring a notebook, your pencil case and preferred art supplies (eg. watercolour palette if you have one!), waterproofs and suitable footwear for walking. Hand lenses, reference books and a selection of materials will also be available for us to use.
