On this course we will take you through the process of identifying if your game is fit for consumption, how to prepare each animal for cooking and use some of the cuts to create simple but hearty campfire meals. We will also discuss the history and uses of the various non meat parts of the animal and talk about the processes our ancestors would have employed to make as much use of the animal as possible. This one day course will give you a solid grounding in using wild game in your cooking, all against the backdrop of the mixed woodland at Park in the Past. Walking with Trees (Dec)

[vc_row full_width=”stretch_row” el_class=”innerpage-rowgraphic”][vc_column width=”2/3″][vc_column_text css=”” el_class=”inner-pagetitle”] NATURE I.D. MADE SIMPLE – FOR EVERYONE Have you ever paused on a walk and wondered, “What tree is this?” Or spotted a curious flower, unusual leaf, or animal track and wished you had someone there to tell you more? Walking with Trees are free guided walks through beautiful woodland and parkland. Usually taking place on the second Tuesday of the month, we visit a different country park or venue around the Wrexham area to discover beautiful wild places. This month’s walk will be exploring Minera Quarry Nature Reserve, which is managed by North Wales Wildlife Trust. When you book your place we will send you full details of where we are meeting. Each month we’ll take our time exploring not just the trees, but all the wild wonders that catch our eye along the way. From wildflowers and edible plants to signs of wildlife and the changing seasons, we’ll follow our curiosity and see where nature leads us. Whether you’re brand new to the natural world or already have a budding interest, this is a relaxed, welcoming way to learn more and connect with the landscape around you. Led by James “The Tree Guy” Kendall, woodsman and outdoor educator, you’ll gain simple, practical skills for identifying what you see and deepen your appreciation of the hidden lives of plants, animals, and trees alike.
