Ronnie Scott's Jazz Club 2026

Direct from London’s world-famous jazz club and combining world-class live jazz, narration, rare archive photos, and video footage, The Ronnie Scott’s All Stars take to the stage to celebrate the ‘The Ronnie Scott’s Story’. Set amongst the dive bars and jazz jook joints of London’s Soho, we hear about the desperate hand-to-mouth finances of the early years and the frequent police raids. We hear how Ronnie's became neutral ground within rife gang territory and their scrapes with gangsters including the Krays who were rumoured to have taken Ronnie Scott “for a little drive”! Life at Ronnie’s is evocatively reimagined through tales of the club’s past visitors, from pop stars, film stars and politicians to comedians and royalty - but above all, the musicians… Mixing classic music from the jazz greats who have performed at Ronnie Scott’s over its incredible history, alongside tales of old Soho, miscreant musicians and police raids, this is a unique evening celebrating one of the world's most famous venues, its music, and history.

James Oliver – guitar and vocals James Oliver is one of the UK’s busiest acts playing over 300 gigs a year all over the UK, Europe, and the USA! He has performed over 3000 gigs and shared the stage with many acts including Albert Lee, Bill Kirchen, Deke Leonard, Greg Koch, Walter Trout, Steve Gibbons, Billy Bremner, Geraint Watkins, and many others. Essex Youth Jazz on Tour

The award-winning Essex Youth Jazz Orchestra (EYJO) is led by resident conductor and Guildhall School Professor of Jazz, Martin Hathaway. The ensemble offers advanced young musicians the opportunity to develop jazz technique, stylistic awareness and improvisation skills. Repertoire spans big band standards, contemporary jazz and works by modern composers. EYJO performs regularly at a variety of venues across Essex, including churches, studio theatres and jazz clubs, giving members valuable live experience. Under expert guidance, players refine ensemble skills while exploring creativity and expression, making EYJO a vital platform for aspiring jazz musicians in the region. Young Essex Jazz introduces young musicians to jazz and supports their early development. Part of Essex Music Service offer, the group is a welcoming space for players to build confidence, learn jazz styles, and develop key ensemble skills. Directed by Paul Moylan, the ensemble focuses on core jazz fundamentals, particularly improvisation, listening, and teamwork. Through regular rehearsals, members explore a variety of repertoire while strengthening technique and creativity. Young Essex Jazz provides a clear progression route, preparing musicians to move on to the Essex Youth Jazz Orchestra (EYJO) when ready.
