Event Details Held in the Harbour Square, a natural arena in the middle of town, the night features a mixture of traditional Scottish Pipe music from our Event Details Held in the Harbour Square, a natural arena in the middle of town, the night features a mixture of traditional Scottish Pipe music from our award winning Kirkcudbright and District Pipe Band supported by the Stewartry Area Wind Band and Galloway Pipers, Scottish Country Dancers, Highland Dancers and other traditional entertainment including the World Famous UNBEATEN Kirkcudbright Tug o’ War Team. Event Details A fantastic, fun free day out for all the family, the grand parade has a fantastic range of entertainment, so whether you fancy getting involved Event Details A fantastic, fun free day out for all the family, the grand parade has a fantastic range of entertainment, so whether you fancy getting involved and entering, or watching whilst waving your flag, it will be a great day out! Come along to the Harbour Square before the parade for our flag making workshops, face painting and kids entertainment. Taking part in the parade we have a fantastic selection of entertainers, Princess and attendants and the Kirkcudbright Pipe Band. If you would like to enter, you can collect an entry form from the Kirkcudbright Summer Festivities Charity Shop and the Visitor Information Centre. This year the fun doesn’t end after the parade, as we’ll have an evening packed with entertainment including kids rides and entertainment, music and food & drink, so stick around for a family fun evening. more Time 22/08/2026 2:15 pm Location Various Locations in Town

With a stunning explosion of creative performances, the assembled local pipe bands, country dancers, our unbeaten Tug ‘o War Team, and much more, you have a performance to stir all the senses and emotions. The night ends with an incredible firework display above Kirkcudbright’s skyline! Expect to see headline acts, a selection of pipe bands, including our own Kirkcudbright & District Pipe Band, Highland dancing, Scottish dancing, our fantastic Tug o’ War and ending the night with a spectacular fireworks display. Event Details We are excited to be bringing you an extra event taking place at Broughton House on Friday 4th September at 6.30pm for a 7pm start. Tickets are £7 for Friends and Event Details We are excited to be bringing you an extra event taking place at Broughton House on Friday 4th September at 6.30pm for a 7pm start. Tickets are £7 for Friends and £8 for other NTS and visitors. Tickets are available by emailing This talk “Conversations with Hornel” the inspiration behind the paintings will be given by Kate prior to her opening at the Whitehouse Gallery which begins on Saturday 5th September at 11am Biography Kate initially trained as a Sculptor and Theatre Designer but by 1999 she made the decision to be a full-time painter. Originally from the Lake District she is now based on the Solway coast in south west Scotland and is also a member of the Society of Women Artists. Kate’s location and landscape hugely influences her subject matter and historically is a ‘painter of life’, using her en plein-air sessions and life drawing to feed her narrative paintings. These narrative works are developed from her love of the human form, pattern, chiaroscuro, and of course theatricality! They are initiated in the studio from mark making, working over studies and old work and a huge amount of experimentation. Themes emerge and the narrative becomes apparent, often stemmed from life experiences, past and present.
