We’re Going on a Bear Hunt

Children’s Music Adventure join us for a joyful and interactive children’s music class inspired by the beloved story - We’re Going on a Bear Hunt! Little ones and their grown-ups will set off on a playful storytelling adventure, swishing through grass, splashing through rivers, and tiptoeing through the woods as we bring the tale to life together. Along the way, we’ll sing engaging songs, explore rhythm and movement, and spark imagination through music and play. This class is designed to encourage participation, creativity, and lots of giggles in a warm and welcoming environment. Perfect for young children, this session is all about having fun, building confidence, and sharing a magical musical experience together. Come along… if you’re not scared! Chocolate Taste-Along: Amelie (2001)

Celebrate International Chocolate Day with us at the Hippodrome with our latest chocolate taste-along screening: the entrancing Amélie. Join us for this unique melt-in-the-mouth movie experience. The showing of Amélie will be paired with a bespoke tasting-box selection – each chocolate lovingly crafted to match the film’s most sensuous moments. Amélie (adorably played by Audrey Tautou) is a shy waitress beset with social anxieties who enjoys life's small pleasures from a safe distance… until a chance discovery sets her on a path to begin her life as a mender of broken hearts. A tremendously seductive modern fairytale, set against the beautiful landmarks and cafés of Paris – that most romantic and magical of cities. “A deeply lovely movie about the importance, and the rewards, of kindness.” The Times “Tautou is utterly captivating. Expert chocolatier Nadia Williams of Thinking Chocolate (www.thinkingchocolate.com) has partnered with us to carefully craft a bespoke Hippodrome taste-along experience. With a ‘Chocolate Tasting Experience Add on ticket’ each guest will be given a selection of numbered chocolates* tailored to correspond with key scenes in the film… simply wait for the number cue to be signalled from the stage, then savour the paired taste experience. *Note: Made with gluten-free ingredients. Evening Performance with Charlie Hopper-Williams

Award-winning pianist and a developer of the app Shazam, Charlie Hooper-Williams bridges the worlds of technology and music like few others can. In this captivating show, Hooper-Williams pairs his "vividly beautiful" "music to soothe the soul" with real-time visuals generated by Otto, his custom-built projection system. Each note played helps to build up striking imagery, creating what has been described as "film scoring inverted"—where visuals respond to music rather than the other way around. As the debut artist on Way Beyond Music, Hooper-Williams has been praised as "a new exciting voice on the contemporary scene" (Times Radio). His work has been featured at SXSW, the Edinburgh Fringe, and Glastonbury Festival, blending classical tradition with cutting-edge innovation to create performances that are "a realm of pure musical ecstasy" (Music 'n' Gear). Whether in a concert hall or a club, his shows immerse audiences in a world where technology isn't cold or distant but alive and collaborative. From his birthplace in the north woods of Minnesota through his time on the Chicago band scene, to his current base in the UK, Hooper-Williams draws on a diverse background to craft performances that are both deeply human and boldly modern.
