Cinema Under The Stars: Jurassic Park - The Lost World

Step into our Thinktank Planetarium for a cinema-style screening of Jurassic Park: The Lost World, the second film in the original Jurassic Park series. Unwind and enjoy a specially selected prehistoric-themed film in a setting designed to inspire curiosity and wonder. You can also explore the museum before the film starts - come face to face with real dinosaurs in our Wild Life and Marine Worlds exhibit on Level 2!A research team is sent to the Jurassic Park Site B island to study the dinosaurs there while another team approaches with another agenda.Film rating: PGFilm runtime: 2 hours 9 minutesEVENT INFORMATIONMain Thinktank doors are open from 7pm.Please enter the museum from Level 0, the Thinktank Main Entrance.Once you've presented your tickets at the welcome desk, you're free to explore the museum before the film.Planetarium doors open by 7:25pm.The Planetarium is located on Level 3.The film starts at 7.30pm.There are no trailers and the film will start promptly.It's difficult for us to admit latecomers, so please aim to arrive with plenty of time to spare! Pre-booking is essential as places are limited. Seating is unallocated.This film was not made to be projected in a full-dome format, but we will be using our big cinema screen inside the dome.

Come and celebrate the best of rock band Queen’s music, including ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’; ‘We Will Rock You’; ‘Radio Gaga’ and ‘We are the Champions’, combining classic music videos, immersive solar system visuals and archive footage.This fulldome experience has been approved by Queen and inspired by their music, as such, it contains non-astronomy content. Join us for a fun reading of Am I Yours? by Alex Latimer (published by Oxford University Press), a heartwarming story about a little dinosaur egg trying to find where they belong. Get involved as we bring this story to life in our amazing theatre space. Expect lots of interactive moments for little explorers as we go on a journey through the prehistoric world of dinosaurs. Stamp your feet, laugh along, and get ready to give your best dinosaur ROAR! This session is perfect for young dino fans and their grown-ups!Event InformationRecommended for children aged 8 years old and below. Children must be accompanied by an adult.Join us in The Theatre on Level 3 of Thinktank.Two sessions (10:45am and 11:45am) on Thursday 28 May and then every Thursday during and the summer holidays (Monday 20th July to Monday 31st August).Sessions last approximately 20 minutes.Included in the admission price.

Jurassic Encounters: Zoolab at Thinktank

Get up close and hands-on with exotic animals in Zoolab's dinosaur show Jurassic Encounters! Meet snakes, snails, spiders and explore what these modern day creatures have to do with our dinosaurs from the past. We're talking about Diplodocuses to T. Rexes as we explore what they ate, when they lived, what they were like, how big they were and what it is that's so special about them!Come and find Zoolab in our Find Your Future area on Level 2. You can join for a full 45-minute dinosaur show, or drop in for a quicker experience.
