BCP Gathering

The Book of Common Prayer (BCP) was written in the mid 1500s by the reformer Thomas Cranmer. It is widely considered to be one of the most important works of English literature ever written. It is still much loved due to the beauty of the traditional language and remains a significant source of doctrine for the Church of England. At the 8am you’ll find a peaceful, reflective space with no sung worship where we journey through silence, ancient liturgy (the words used to structure a worship gathering) and share the eucharist together.

Informal Gathering

The emphasis in this gathering is on Inspiring worship, making space for God’s Spirit to meet with us, and learning from the Bible together. We worship God with contemporary songs, using creative media and take time to get to grips with what God’s word means for us today. The teaching here is a bit more in-depth than at our other gatherings and people of all ages are warmly welcome (see ‘Children and Young People’). We also share communion on the first Sunday of the month.
