Time Out for Parents - Children with Additional Needs

Parenting is a tough job for everyone, but especially for parents of children with additional needs. This six-week course from national charity Care for the Family gives parents time and space to think through the challenges and learn new skills. It's a mixture of presentation and discussion, giving a valuable opportunity to share experiences, frustrations, successes and strategies with other parents facing similar challenges. The course has been written by parents and professionals working with children with a variety of additional needs, particularly those who have learning, developmental and behavioural issues. It focusses on children aged between 3 to 11, but parents of younger teenagers may also find some of the content helpful, and benefit from meeting other parents. It is not necessary to have a formal diagnosis to attend. The course will be on zoom, led by Care for the Family facilitator Vicky Lavy with Jackie Anderson, a mum who's lived through the experience. Dates:  2, 9, 16, 23, 30 June and 7 July 2026 Time:  10.00am - 12.00pm Cost: £15 for the full course, with free ticket for second parent Please book your free place by 20th May. Welcome to Baby & Toddler Group! Whether you are a mum, dad, carer, nanny, au pair, child minder or grandparent you are very welcome. Sign up here to join the group for the academic year (September 25 - July 26) - you only need to do it once! Open Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 10:00am—12:00 We run our group during school term time only. Each session is relaxed and informal with free play in our hall, concourse and children's crèche room. We break for a music session around 11:20 and offer a craft on both days.  Feel free to bring older or younger children to either group but be aware that some activities will be more geared to babies or children—there is no strict rule.  Please don't bring school aged children. A donation of £3 to £4 per family helps us to run the group and pay for the refreshments and activities.  There is an honesty box on the signing in table.  Pay what you can, but remember we would rather have you than your money. Monday Mums 2025-2026

Monday Mums is a community of mums with children of all ages flourishing as we do life with each other and with God. At Monday Mums, we strive to offer warm hospitality, genuine care, and a programme catering for the particular needs and concerns of mums. We meet term time on Mondays in the St Andrew's Church Main Hall 9:45–11:30. There is a creche provided for those with pre-school aged children. Come for coffee, cake, and chat, followed by small group Bible study and prayer. Sign up once for the whole sequence of meetings and for the creche, you are then on the list for everything.  Whilst we encourage people to come regularly we recognise that some people may need to have some weeks off.
