Murder in the Cathedral

One of the greatest actors of his generation stars in one the greatest plays of the 20th century. Giants of the theatre combine as Sir David Suchet stars in T.S. Eliot's epic study of a character who has shone through almost one thousand years of history, Thomas Becket. The award-winning Orange Tree Theatre stage a sweeping, atmospheric drama directed by Tom Littler, with a cast of twenty, direct from Richmond's striking St. John the Divine church. 1170. A Child's Christmas in Wales

For ages 8+ - Please note this is not specifically a family show. It is an alternative to the family panto. It is a little bit scary and children may zone out to parts. It is dependent on the child. Emma Rice does not want it billed as a family show. We are doing 2 babe in arms performances to enable young parents to attend the theatre with their youngsters, but only babes in arms not toddlers! A Child’s Christmas in Wales is the perfect antidote to festive madness, taking audiences to a magical place of wit, warmth and wonder. Returning to the stage after a sell-out run at Christmas 2025, Dylan Thomas’ beloved poem is woven into a beautiful hour of heart-melting music, puppetry, candles, shadows and rare imagination. Emma Rice Company make their Ustinov debut following many highly-acclaimed Main House productions including Blue Beard, North by Northwest and Malory Towers.
