Welcome Cafe

A place for all, to meet strangers and make friends. Games, tea, coffee, cake and good chat are at the heart of this.   Where anywhere up to one hundred or more regular guests come in and share the welcome. We offer tea, coffee, delicious cakes and at lunch time, a hot meal that has been made in our own kitchen. Pay what you can It's been referred to as a real community hub.   The City Council's information facility is available to anyone that has questions of the Council.   Renew, the drugs and alcohol support service, see it now as an established meeting place and because of the informal environment have been able to engage even better with those seeking ongoing support.   There may be someone you know that is struggling with an addiction and you don't know what to do to support a family member or friend. Come along, confidential help is available.   Another regular is the NHS Hepatitis C blood testing team. Those that take a test receive a £5.00 gift voucher.   There is ongoing pastoral support available. We usually also offer a short Celtic Prayer 's an opportunity to take 10mins for reflection.

Little Fishes

We are friendly, supportive group of parents, grandparents and friends who come together to chat and play. There is a secure play area for children to explore and play with toys and usually crafts plus extra's around the sides. Our group is for any child up to school age (0-5.) During the holidays we aim to meet in the park as we know they can be long. There is no charge for the group but donations are welcome. Please bring a pair of socks for playing at on the mats. We usually end the group with wonderful songs. There is no need to book, just turn up. The group is in the main building, you will be able to see our big play mat. The front West doors open at 10am or you can access earlier by the North doors, opposite the market. We don't usually meet in church during the school holidays. Check the website. Hull Minster Crafters Looking for a friendly space to relax, create, and connect? Hull Minster Crafters is a warm and welcoming craft group open to people of all abilities. Bring along your own project or join in with the prepared craft activity — all materials are provided. Enjoy tea, coffee, and homemade biscuits as you craft in good company. Best of all, it's completely free. This group has been created to serve our community by offering a safe and supportive space for anyone experiencing loneliness, low mood, or simply a desire for connection and conversation. Through creativity, we celebrate diversity, encourage self-expression, and build meaningful friendships. Our aim is to bring people together to craft and create, fostering a sense of achievement, purpose, and belonging. 1st Hull, Girls' Brigade Group. For young people aged 7-14 years. Are you looking for an exciting group, that's meets each week during the school term? Somewhere your child can have fun, play games, enjoy craft activities, make new friends and learn about following Jesus, through an exciting programme. Girls' Brigade is a uniformed, Christian group where we enjoy doing badgework, learning new skills and being part of our local community. 1st Hull Girls' Brigade meets every Tuesday from 6:30pm-8pm at Hull Minster, HU1 1RR We welcome new members and look forward to meeting you. Christian Prayer & Meditation Meeting

Christian Meditation and Prayer Gathering (happening every Wednesday at Hull Minster, from 1.30 - 2.30pm).   In our frantic and noisy world, we all need to find ways into stillness and silence, where we can be in simplicity with God. To help with this, each week we will be hosting a short time of Christian meditation (30mins) followed by some time of reflective prayer with a passage from scripture (lectio divina) at [Hull Minster](https://hullminster.org/).    Laurence Freeman, from the [World Community of Christian Meditation](https://wccm.uk/), describes Christian meditation as a "spiritual practice which guides us into the prayer of Christ. It brings us to silence, stillness and simplicity by a means that is itself silent, still and simple". Join us as we seek to enter deeply into this simple, still, silent prayer of Christ.   Prior to the Christian Meditation and Prayer Gathering, Hull Minster will be holding their lunchtime Holy Communion service, at 12.30pm, to which you are most welcome.

May Day Choral Hull Performance & Maypole

Celebrate the arrival of spring at Hull Minster with our joyful May Day celebration in Trinity Square. The morning begins with a truly unique moment as children from our Choral Hull groups sing from the top of the Minster tower (approx. 10:00–10:30am). Their voices, carried across the square, continue a long tradition of music at the heart of Hull. After their tower-top performance, the celebration moves to the square below, where you can enjoy traditional Maypole dancing, live performances from local groups, and a relaxed, family-friendly festival atmosphere. May Day has been celebrated for centuries as a festival of renewal and community, marking the turning of the seasons. The Maypole, with its brightly coloured ribbons woven through dance, is one of the most recognisable symbols of this tradition — bringing people together in movement, music, and celebration. Come along, put a spring into your step, and enjoy this lively and welcoming event in the heart of the city. Refreshments will be available.

Brick (Lego/Minecraft) Church

Brick Church is a relaxed, creative space where people of all ages come together to build with Lego bricks or Minecraft and connect with stories from the Bible in a fun, hands-on way. It's not a traditional church service; instead, it's more like a casual community gathering that mixes play, learning, and a bit of faith exploration. Here's what it typically looks like: • Warm Welcome: Brick church is in the middle of the Nave. Tables are covered with piles of Lego, music might be playing softly, and people are chatting and building. There is breakfast available, and hot drinks. There are mats on the floor for Duplo. If you want to borrow a tablet to use Minecraft, we have children friendly kindle tablets.  • Bible Story Time: After some free-building time, and a welcoming prayer, a simple Bible story is shared. It's often interactive, short, and engaging—told in a way that connects with everyday life. Think stories like Noah's Ark, the Good Samaritan, or Jesus feeding the 5,000. • Themed Build: Everyone is invited to build something inspired by the story—like a boat for Noah, a road for the Samaritan, or a picnic scene for the loaves and fishes. There's no pressure to make it perfect; creativity and imagination are celebrated. • Sharing and Reflection: Once the builds are done, there might be a moment to show what you've made and talk about what the story means. Sometimes there's a short prayer or a takeaway thought, but it's always relaxed and inclusive.
