Introduction to Powertex, taster session - Hanging Heart

Introduction to Powertex - Hanging Heart plaque and a little surprise. This is a great taster session, you will learn about Powertex and what it can be used for. This is suitable for beginners, before going onto anything larger or more intricate.Create your own unique decorative plaque using a wooden heart, (designs vary) as a base and upcycling scrap materials and embellishments, plus a little surprise.Cost of £20 includes all materials, tuition and refreshments on the day.Powertex is the environmentally friendly water based textile hardener which can harden a variety of materials and can be used in lots of different ways.It can be a very messy craft but very addictive with great results. An apron and gloves will be provided, please wear old clothes.A £10 non refundable (but transferable) deposit will secure your place, spaces are limited. Please either pop into the studio to book or give us a ring on .Please note that we need 2 people minimum to be able to run this workshop and it will take place in our upstairs workshop.For full workshop terms and conditions please see the Powertex section of our website

NEW Powertex Butterfly

Come and join us to create your own colourful Butterfly wall plaque.In this workshop you will be using Powertex fabric hardener, stencil paste, acrylic ink sprays and various recycled fabrics and embellishments to design and decorate a 31cm wide MDF Wall hanging Butterfly.Once dry you will use a dry brush technique to colour and enhance the texture on your Butterfly using pigments and varnish, the finished look is up to you.When finished you take your Butterfly home with you which once fully dried (3 weeks drying time) can be placed outside if you wish.Powertex is a fabric hardener, so we recommend wearing old clothes, aprons and gloves are supplied and refreshments are included. It is a messy craft but great fun.Limited spaces are available, a £10 non-refundable (but transferable) deposit is required on booking. Give us a ring on or pop into the studio at 18 Vine Mews, Vine Street, Evesham, WR11 4RE to book.Please note that we need a minimum of 2 people to be able to run this workshop and this will take place in our upstairs studio.£35 per person

Frederick, accidentally apprenticed to Pirates as a child, is indentured to the Pirate King until his 21st birthday. On the day he reaches 21 he leaves the ship, announcing that he now intends to dedicate his life to the Pirates’ destruction. The Pirate King checks the contract’s small print – and realises that as Frederick’s birthday is 29th February on a leap year he has only had four birthdays and is actually indentured for another 63 years. With only the Penzance constabulary to protect him, will Frederick be forced to serve the pirates until he is 84? And will his sweetheart, Mabel, wait for him that long? Performed by a six-strong cast of actor/singers with fully orchestrated accompaniment, The Pirates of Penzance boasts such gloriously memorable songs as “To be a Pirate King!”; “Modern Major General” and “A Policeman’s Lot is Not a Happy One”. With razor sharp satire and glittering wit, it remains as fresh as if it had been written today.
