The Blue Lena + The Haunted Souls double header

The Blue Lena, featuring local musicians Nick Singleton and Richie Yeates on guitars and Sarah Warren on vocals, are an original UK rock band influenced by southern rock, blues rock and country rock. The band’s debut album, Darkwood, released in November 2024 just ahead of their performances at WinterStorm and Planet Rockstock, received rave reviews in all the rock magazines, with Classic Rock magazine featuring The Blue Lena in their ‘Hotlist’ section, as a band to look out for in 2024. The band have also received airplay at Planet Rock Radio, with their single Sanctity being made track of the week on Wyatt Wendels show, and Darren Reddick also from Planet Rock, named The Blue Lena as his “find of the year”. “Drenched in soul, with a nod to the likes of Free and The Black Crowes”- Fireworks magazine. ‘Go-to’ trumpet player on the London scene brings her own music blending London roots with jazz, latin and hip-hop Londoner Poppy Daniels has become an integral part of the UK jazz scene, and ‘go-to’ trumpet player for the likes of Blue Lab Beats, Daniel Casimir, Celeste, Jordan Rakei, Arlo Parks, Hak Baker and more, at world renowned venues at home and abroad. After an extensive career thus far, Poppy is now focusing on her own music, blending her London roots with jazz, latin and hip hop influences. In 2025 she released her debut EP ‘Keep On Going’, on the progressive Jazz Re:freshed label. The album was co-written with bassist Alley Lloyd (Colectiva, Fleur East, Poppy Ajudha, Yasmin Lacey) and features Allexa Nava, who played for us in November. Fred Zeppelin (Led Zeppelin tribute)

In 2023 Fred Zeppelin have reached 30 years together. Well, to be precise, Steve Black (that’s me on drums) formed the band 30 years ago with three mates. Our original singer Rob Bloomer left after 2 years so Steven Gale replaced him, and approx 11 years ago our bassist Kevin Brown, & guitarist Keith Jenkins also left the band. We really thought that would be the end but we got very lucky and found the dynamic duo of Mark Cresswell on bass and Elliot Gavin on guitar. We’re a bit like Trigger from ‘Only Fools & Horses’ talking about his broom (that’s if you are old enough to remember!). Anyway, we think 30 years is an achievement that we’re all proud of. 30 Years Gone…. During their time together the band are honoured that Led Zeppelin’s front-man, Robert Plant, has attended three of their gigs and John Bonham’s son, Jason, even jammed with them on stage. It must surely also be the best recommendation any band could receive and assure Led Zeppelin fans apprehensive about seeing The Fredz. It’s worth taking a camera with you, as you don’t know who could be standing next to you. In the audience have been MAGNUM’s front-man Bob Catley, WHITESNAKE’s guitarist Mel Galley. Roy Wood legendary main man of THE MOVE & WIZZARD, and SLADES Jimmy Lea. The band were also invited by Led Zeppelin’s Jimmy Page to attend a charity event of which Jimmy is a patron. They were thrilled to meet and chat with the legendary guitarist.

A new trio featuring three very special creative voices of the UK scene Saxophonist, clarinetist and composer Mark Lockheart (Loose Tubes, Polar Bear) brings his new project Shapeshifter to Worcester, featuring Huw V Williams (Di-Cysgodion, George Crowley, Laura Jurd) on bass and Jay Davis (Alex Hitchcock, Laura Jurd, Rob Luft) on drums. This new trio creates a unique sonic experience, shifting moment to moment, gracefully and spontaneously stitching together sound landscapes and grooves. The three members share the writing credits alongside a few carefully chosen works by Bill Frisell, Joe Henderson and Paul Motion. Taking the exploratory spirit of groups like Polar Bear and Malija, the band move together through a common language of jazz, rock, classical and free improvisation exploring dark textures and dramatic musical shifts as they revel in the unexpected.

Taking inspiration from Chick Corea's 'Return To Forever' and Keith Jarrett's 'European Quartet', Tomorrow's New Quartet has been thrilling audiences all over the country with its engaging brand of modern jazz.
