The Sutherland Show

Held each July, The Sutherland Agricultural Show began in 1951 to showcase the vitality and productivity of this fragile area of Scotland. Stretching from the Atlantic Ocean to the North Sea, from the far north coast to the Dornoch Firth, Sutherland encompasses a wide diversity of landscapes and climatic conditions, and its industries and agriculture reflect this. The Main Show Ring hosts a variety of entertainment including The Ardross Pipe Band, the ever popular Working Sheepdog Display, Vintage Vehicle Parades, Children’s Sports, Terrier Racing and, of course, Judging of the Champions and the Livestock Parade. In addition to events in the show ring, why not visit the funfair and the farming education tent. We’re sure you will enjoy another fun and action-packed day at The Sutherland Show where there will be something for everyone!

Come and share worship in the newly reopened Croick Church. The service begins at 3pm and includes the Lord’s Supper. Those making the pilgrimage beforehand are asked to gather at the Amat turnoff (What3Words send.outbound.surprises) for 2pm. Parking is limited at Amat but there is plenty at the Church. Dornoch Gatherings: Sean Kelly - Orthopaedic Surgeon

After 35 years as a local public sector NHS Orthopaedic surgeon, Sean retired two years ago from his Highland clinical practice. Since that time, he has linked with Scottish colleagues and local Zambian surgeons to work with a pro bono Orthopaedic charity based in Zambia called Flyspec There is a huge unmet need for Orthopaedic treatments in Zambia. This is particularly important for ensuring surgical care is accessible in remote & rural communities. Access is often difficult and facilitated by small, fixed-wing aircraft, thus enabling vital life-changing operations to be available to those patients living outside the capital city, Lusaka. The original pioneering vision of the charity has flourished and survived the test of time despite the austere environmental and economic challenges. Recurrent emphasis on the need for local surgical leadership and the passing on of practical knowledge to local surgeons has been fundamental to that mission.
