What's on in Rushbrooke

Suffolk, England

From craft workshops the kids won't stop asking about to quiz nights that'll test your knowledge of Suffolk trivia (yes, really) — Rushbrooke has it sorted. Coffee mornings, farmers' markets, film screenings, book clubs, open mic nights, toddler groups, and the occasional village fête that runs like clockwork. All the events that happen in village halls and community centres and local venues that the big listings sites don't bother with. We check the parish council pages, the library noticeboards, the venue websites buried three clicks deep. If it's happening locally and it's worth knowing about, it's here.

Around delightful day immersed in the vibrant world of watercolour with Sunil Kalbandi . All materials are provided, so you can simply relax, create, and take home at least three of your very own paintings – paintings you'll be proud to display! No prior experience needed – just a love for colour and a desire to explore! Join our immersive six-hour watercolour workshop designed to help you master painting 3-4 distinct flowers. We'll begin with a quick theory session focused on colour mixing and essential floral techniques like wet-on-wet washes for soft petals and lifting for highlights. The key to beautiful flowers is observation, so you will learn how to simplify drawing them before we move to paint. Through 2-3 step-by-step floral demonstrations, you will learn all the core techniques to master any flower after the class is complete. The majority of the time is for hands-on painting, where you'll create three beautiful floral pieces with personalised guidance. This beginner-friendly course requires no prior drawing experience and adapts to all skill levels. Expect ad hoc reviews and helpful pointers, aiming for you to learn essential techniques and take home paintings you'll be proud of. Please wear comfortable clothing suitable for painting. This is a six-hour workshop, including short breaks. Lunch is not provided, however there is a cafe on the premises. Plenty of parking is available at the venue. The venue is wheelchair accessible. If children are attending, they must be accompanied by a responsible adult. Times: 10am-4pm Tickets: £99 Venue: The Apex, Bury St Edmunds This event is promoted by Sunil Kalbandi Ltd
