Bible Study Group

Essentially a discussion group. We pick different passages from the Bible and discuss what our interpretation of that passage means for our lives today. It is very informal and friendly. We are not seeking to establish a common view, the Bible speaks to each of us individually and so will mean something different to each of us. Fun is a key word for us, in that we aim to enjoy our discussions and the refreshments that go with them. Getting to know our Bibles better brings us closer to God and to one another. That is the main aim of this group:- Coming closer to God.

Churchyard Clean-UP

We are very proud of our churchyard. It is quite rustic, with lots of areas for the wildlife, but it clearly shows how much we love it. Once a month we gather to maintain the edges, where the undergrowth encroaches on the areas of mown lawns. If you would like to help, please just come along. Bring with you any tools you might need for the work you are comfortable doing; shears, gloves, hat, etc. Refreshments will be provided.

Workshop - Stone Carving With Paul Maggs

Spend a day learning the art of stone carving in the unique and inspiring setting of Rockaway Park. It is the perfect place for anyone who enjoys creativity, craft and a relaxed atmosphere. The workshop begins at 9.30am with a short introduction to the tools, materials and techniques you will be using. You can choose from a range of simple, intermediate or more detailed pre‑printed patterns, or design your own if you prefer. Once you have chosen your design, you will learn how to transfer it onto the stone and make your first carving cuts. Your tutor for the day is Paul Maggs, an experienced craft mason and long‑standing teacher of stone masonry. Paul has a calm and encouraging teaching style, and he is skilled at helping beginners feel confident with the tools. He will be on hand throughout the day to offer guidance, demonstrations and support whenever you need it. We keep the day relaxed, with a tea break around 11am and a lunch break between 1pm and 2pm. The workshop usually finishes at 4pm, or earlier if everyone completes their piece. All materials, tools and PPE are provided. By the end of the session you will head home with your own hand‑carved stone creation. TICKETS HERE

Catalyst Club

Founded in 2004, The Catalyst Club is a monthly event inspired by French salons, old debating societies and the wonderfully odd traditions of gentlemen’s clubs.
