Cyanotype Workshop- Drop In

Drop by and explore the magic of sun printing! Join us for a cyanotype drop-in session where you can create your own beautiful blue prints using just sunshine and water. Place flowers, leaves, or flat objects on pre-coated light sensitive paper, let the sun work its magic and rinse in water to reveal your blueprint. All materials are provided. Family friendly, just come and have a go. All children must be accompanied by an adult. Depending on the conditions of the day, exposure time will vary. Please allow 20 minutes -1 hour per go. Cyanotype Prints take a little time to dry so you can leave your print, relax in the on-site restaurant, and collect it later. £10per go, pay on the day.

Festival of Archaeology at Prior Park

Prior Park takes part once again in the Festival of Archaeology, with walks and information on previous digs and projects. Information will be on display about previous digs in the Pasture, as will old finds from previous projects, including the dams project. On selected dates, a volunteer will be available to answer questions and discuss findings. You will be able to view a timeline of the last 33 years, since the National Trust acquired Prior Park, outlining its restoration and changes over the years. Walk the site and find interpretation on different areas of importance, such as the Bath House. There are also two pre-bookable guided walks with the lead archaeologist from previous digs, available to book on the walks' event page (22 & 28 July).

Summer of Play at Prior Park

Summer of Play returns to Prior Park with more fun and relaxed outdoor activities for the children to discover. Lawn games available in the Cabinet near the top of the garden, and by the Tea Cabin at the bottom of the garden. Find the play library by the Tea Cabin, perfect to pop in for a refreshing drink while your little ones explore the games on offer. Don't forget to use our bug spotting sheets and explorer backpacks, available to borrow from the main reception. This year the National Trust is partnering with Pokémon. Thanks to this partnership, children will be given a Pokémon sticker book. Add a sticker every time you visit a Summer of Play site.
