Summer HHAH Activities - Science Workshops with Fizz Pop Science

We’re excited to be part of the Happy Healthy Active Holidays (HHAH) Scheme, offering FREE places for children and young people eligible for benefit-related free school meals. It’s the perfect way to stay active, have fun, and enjoy a healthy meal during the school holidays! Our sessions run from 12noon–3pm and are open to children in Reception up to Year 11 (ages 4–16), with a wide range of engaging activities on offer throughout the summer. Volunteering @ Coalport Grassland

Join us at Coalport Grassland for some scything! We will cut this section of grassland, rake and remove the cuttings. We may also do some pruning on the bank. Terrain: Few steps, relatively flat, uneven terrain Meeting Point: Coalbrookdale Community Centre, 2 Wellington Rd, Coalbrookdale, Telford TF8 7DX If you are not registered as a volunteer with the Severn Gorge Countryside Trust, but would like to get involved, please send an email to or before booking! What you need to know All activities are subject to change at short notice due to inclement weather or other circumstances. Our minibus can take you to the site, picking up at 9.45am from Coalbrookdale Community Centre on Darby Road. Or you can meet on site(Volunteers are informed each week if we will be using the minibus) If you will be travelling in the minibus, please inform us in advance to ensure there are enough seats. Bring sturdy footwear (preferably steel toe-capped boots for practical activities), outdoor clothing, waterproofs, refreshments and packed lunch. We provide tea/coffee and biscuits in the morning break. We will provide tools, training, gloves, hard hats, goggles, hand sanitizer. Please use only the trust’s tools for insurance purposes. 16/17-year-olds will be asked to provide parental permission before taking part. Please check your Tetanus injections are up-to-date.

Let’s get practical in our wild, outdoor kitchen & have fun together in a relaxed atmosphere………..An exciting opportunity to cook a wide variety of dishes using our tried and tested recipes that work well over the open fire or in the pizza oven. Using the flame as your cooking friend, the right size fire for the job, making and using equipment for when cooking over a fire & being creative with a wide range of fabulous, quality food.This will include the grill, the cooking tray/lid, on the embers in the fire itself and in dutch ovens.
