What's on in Beacon Hill

Lincolnshire, England

The proper local stuff the big sites overlook — from open mic nights to dog shows, toddler groups to talks about local history that turn out to be more interesting than you'd think. Beacon Hill keeps its calendar surprisingly full, and we've tracked down the lot. Coffee mornings that turn into proper catch-ups. Quiz nights where the same team wins every week and everyone pretends not to mind. Craft fairs, food markets, community screenings, and workshops teaching you things you didn't know you wanted to learn. All the things that make living somewhere feel like actually living somewhere, not just sleeping there.

Isle Carer Peer Support Group

Isle Carer Peer Support Group Caring for a loved one can be rewarding, but it can also be demanding, exhausting, and sometimes lonely. Whether you’re looking after a family member, friend, or neighbour who cannot manage without support, finding people who understand your challenges can make a huge difference. The Isle Carer Peer Support Group— is a friendly, welcoming space for unpaid carers to meet, share, and connect. This group meets on the third Wednesday of each month, from 1.30pm to 3pm, at Crowle Hub, High Street, Crowle, DN17 4DR. You don’t need to book— but you can call us for more information if you wish!   Simply drop in on the sessions when you can. Our sessions are relaxed and informal. This gives you the chance to take a break from your caring responsibilities while enjoying friendly conversation and mutual support. Peer support is about more than just chatting—it’s about building a network of people who “get it.” Here, you can share your own experiences, hear from others in similar situations, and exchange practical tips on topics like managing health appointments, accessing local services, balancing self-care with your caring role, and navigating benefits or funding support. The group is facilitated by the team at The Carers Support Service, who are on hand to offer free, confidential advice and guidance tailored to your needs. Whether you need information on carers’ rights, emotional support, or signposting to specialist help, we’re here for you.
