We're talking proper local events here: quiz nights that get genuinely competitive, coffee mornings that serve actual decent coffee (not the instant stuff), and village fêtes that are surprisingly well organised. Medway Oaks

Run in partnership with Medway Centre of Mission, Medway Oaks takes place on Sunday afternoons from 2pm till 4pm. In the middle of the afternoon there is a short talk and time for sharing. Throughout the afternoon there is plenty of tea, coffee, sandwiches and biscuits available. Medway Oaks is "fun, friendly, everyone is welcome, and everyone is valued. Fun, Friendship, Food, and Jesus what more do we need." Please note that Medway Oaks is for adults only.

Tuesday Evening Social Football

Join us on Tuesday evenings to enjoy playing some football with a great group of people and to demonstrate your faith within the context of building good friendships. Explore fascinating aspects of local and national history through two engaging sessions: Women of the Dockyard - 10.30am Learn about the women who worked at the Dockyard or were connected to naval life. From challenging gender norms to opening new opportunities, these stories reveal the important roles women have played throughout history and offer inspiration for today. National curriculum links: Understanding how people’s lives have shaped the nation; connections between local, regional, national and international history; cultural, economic, military, political, religious and social history; short and long-term timescales; First and Second World War naval dockyard challenges; local history studies. Empire - 12.30pm Discover the main themes of British imperial history and explore how Chatham Dockyard and its exhibits connect to this story. This session introduces key figures such as Sir John Hawkins and Olaudah Equiano, highlighting their roles within the wider context of the British Empire. In the first of our 2026 evening talks, Will Harrison, founder of Oceanographic and Ocean Photographer of the Year, joins award-winning photographer and regular Ocean Photographer of the Year entrant Henley Spiers to explore the story behind one of the ocean world's most celebrated platforms. Will reflects on why he founded OPY - and the conviction that a single, extraordinary image can do what data and science sometimes cannot: move people. Together, Will and Henley will discuss the unique role photography plays in ocean conservation, translating the beauty, fragility and urgency of our seas into something visceral and undeniable. They also explore the power of bringing these images off the screen and into the world - and why in-person exhibitions remain one of the most potent tools we have for inspiring audiences to care, to act and to change.
