What's on in Water End

Hertfordshire, England

Book clubs, bingo, and the occasional village fête that's surprisingly well organised — Water End punches well above its weight for local events, and Hertfordshire's all the better for it. You'll find everything from craft workshops the kids won't stop asking about to open mic nights that are genuinely worth staying up past nine for. The big listings sites have never heard of half these venues, which is their loss and your gain. Parish council listings, community centre noticeboards, pub websites we've had to zoom in on to read properly — we've checked them all so you don't have to.

Prayer Room

Verso Prayer Room: A House of Intercession The new prayer room at Verso is a dedicated space for living a life of intercession and cultivating a deeper intimacy with God. It's a place where personal devotion and corporate worship meet—an ignition space soaked in our prayers where what happens in our homes can be reflected in the church, and what happens in the church can shape our communities and world. Inspired by the disciples' request to Jesus, "Lord, teach us to pray," the prayer room is designed to help us follow His example of continual prayer. Throughout history, the mark of the church has been intercessory prayer, and this space continues that legacy—connecting us to the heroes of faith who sought God's face and changed the world through persistent prayer. The room is intended for focused prayer, not socializing or receiving prayer ministry. In this space we will intercede for people, our cities, nations, governments, and global needs—praying for things beyond human control but never beyond God's power. It's a calling to build a house of prayer: for revival, for salvation, and for God to move mightily in our generation. Prayer Room: Details Room Location: Upstairs above the atrium. There is a lift available for those with accessibility needs. When you arrive you must sign in and out the building. For Wednesday evenings outside of office hours there will be a number on a sign to call in order to enter the building.

YA Midweek Gathering - BCYA Launch

BUSINESS CLUB YOUNG ADULTS  One of the biggest transitions we make is moving from school/uni into work. At the same time as learning how to be an adult, we're navigating unfamiliar territory and dealing with challenges we've probably never faced before. Add faith into the mix and it can feel mystifying. Do I leave my faith at reception and pick it up on the way out? Or do stand on the office desk and tell everyone on day one and invite them to church?! The key is to recognise that God is already there. It is His workplace, not ours - and that matters. God is our provider, and we're His stewards. That means we have access to His resources, anywhere and at any time. This will change how we see our gives us a clear, practical way to make progress in both our jobs and our faith. As stewards, we can go to our boss (God) and say, "Here's the issue. How do you want me to handle it?" That requires time with Him - or, as we say in BC, time in His office. And the good news is, He has an office in every workplace and His door is always open. It's a metaphor, but a useful one, because there is nowhere God is not present. So we are launching a young adults version of Business Club, designed to equip, mentor, encourage and pray for those in the workplace, helping us become the stewards God calls us to be. We'll meet weekly on Zoom every , and once a quarter we'll come together in person for BC XL (extra large).
