Fownhope table tennis group, having started in 2005, runs regular weekly sessions from 10-12 every Wednesday morning throughout the year, each session costs just £2 pp. The group does not enter competitions or any leagues, but is a social and friendly group that enjoys playing for exercise and fun. Community Library

The Community Library was opened in 2012, with the help of the Parish Council and use of the Community Room at Faulkner House. It is a warm comfortable room with easy chairs and everyone is welcome for a chat and a cuppa. There is a large selection of fiction and non-fiction, and a strong section on local history, travel and walking books/OS maps. With over 5000 items including DVDs and CDs and a good choice of children’s books, there is something for everyone. We have excellent links with St Mary’s School and welcome pre-school children every Wednesday in term time to borrow books and hear a story. All residents of Fownhope and nearby villages are eligible to join and membership is free thanks to the friendly volunteer team, help from the Parish Council and donations from the Friends of Fownhope Library.

A welcoming group of amateur musicians of all standards attempting to navigate our way through various popular songs. Village Evening at the Cricket Nets

Free use of the cricket nets for all Fownhope residents — no booking required, just turn up. The nets are open to everyone in the hour before the Strollers’ regular training session, with a Club officer on site throughout. After that, you’re welcome to stay on and join the training session itself — a great way to meet the team and have a go.
