What's on in Boresford

Herefordshire, England

Book clubs, bingo, and the occasional village fête that's surprisingly well organised — Boresford punches well above its weight for local events, and Herefordshire's all the better for it. You'll find everything from craft workshops the kids won't stop asking about to open mic nights that are genuinely worth staying up past nine for. The big listings sites have never heard of half these venues, which is their loss and your gain. Parish council listings, community centre noticeboards, pub websites we've had to zoom in on to read properly — we've checked them all so you don't have to.

Reccy Session 2 for Shropshire Way 80K

*Fundraiser as part of the Shropshire Way 80K Festival These are led by Nickie and Jen, two of our volunteers. The aim is to show you the route, give you the confidence to use a map, compass and the route description to find your own way on the event day and to provide a view of the course. The sessions will be fun and informal guided walks and will give you the opportunity to meet some of your fellow competitors and share tips. Disclaimer: These sessions are not part of the SW80K Festival and are not covered by its public liability insurance. The volunteers act as guides only and do not assume the role of leaders and take no responsibility for your safety on route. Everyone taking part in these events does so at their own risk. Before you book: Each session will be paced to reflect the pace needed to complete the whole event within the prescribed time. The group will go at the pace of the slowest person, but everyone will need to be confident of keeping with this pace over rough, hilly ground. The cost of each session is £5.00 per person, which will be donated to the Discovery Centre’s charity work. To take part you must carry the following: Sufficient food and water as there are no refreshment stops on route. Clothing suitable for the conditions on the day Map, compass and written route description. This is to ensure you are learning the route rather than just following the group.
