Each Sunday we meet together to break bread and take part from the cup, in obedience to the Lord’s command to do this “in remembrance of Me”, thus proclaiming His death until He comes again (1 Cor 11:23-26). WORKSHOP: Making TAX Digital

From April 2026, HMRC is introducing Making Tax Digital (MTD) for Income Tax, bringing significant changes to how sole traders and landlords record and report their income. In the workshop we will cover: Who needs to comply including income thresholds that bring you into MTD What it means in practical terms for small businesses, from digital record-keeping and quarterly submissions to the transition away from annual self-assessment tax returns When tax payments are due and how the new reporting system fits around existing payment deadlines Why it’s important to be proactive rather than re-active (even when the legislation will already be in place by the time we run the workshop) How MTD can actually benefit small businesses, rather than becoming another compliance tick box While it may feel like another layer of regulation, MTD can help small businesses stay closer to their numbers and avoid the stress of last-minute surprises. Netwalking

Netwalking is back! If you’ve not tried it before, Netwalking is a totally different concept from regular networking, combining the relaxed informality of a walk in the countryside with a chance to share the experience with some different people. Walking tends to encourage conversation, and there is a natural tendency to chat and mingle with fellow walkers. The walk will commence from the Greyhound pub car park. We will walk at a leisurely pace, for approximately an hour and a half, followed by an opportunity to enjoy a drink. If you can’t join us for the walk, but would like to come along for a drink later, you would be very welcome. We are dedicating this walk to the memory of Julian Goode who used to run the Netwalking and then started his own ‘Goode Walks’. Netwalking is usually a free event but on this occasion we are asking for a voluntary donation of £5 to donate to Julian’s two charities, The Anothony Nolan Trust and Barts. Non-members are welcome to join us and discover one of the many benefits of being a member of Brentwood Chamber of Commerce. Feel free to bring a guest with you. Dogs are also welcome and the walk will go ahead whatever the weather!

Following on from a successful Introduction to AI workshop held last November, the Brentwood Chamber of Commerce, working in partnership with Brentwood Council, are bringing back David Bell from Simboc to present a series of five focused half day sessions on AI. This workshop will focus on – AI Productivity Hacks for Busy Business Owners – Learn the best AI tools for automating admin, managing tasks and freeing up time to focus on growth. Don’t forget to bring your laptop as these workshops are hands on and practical! Arrive from 8.30am for teas, coffees and pastries and informal networking. The cost is £10 for Chamber members, £15 for non-Chamber members. Any non-members must be based in the Borough of Brentwood. Spaces will be limited to 20 per workshop so please book early and a maximum of 2 people from the same business. All workshops will be held at the Holiday Inn Brentwood.
