Together 2026

Join us on Saturday 25th April for Together 26, our fourth annual gathering of Regions Beyond churches in the north of the UK. This day is a chance to connect with those in our wider Regions Beyond family, worship and encounter God together, hear about and pray for what God is doing in our churches and receive teaching from the Bible. Location: The Emmanuel Centre (DH1 1TN), the home of Emmanuel Church Durham. Timings: Coffee will be served from 9.30am with the conference starting at 10am and : Free but sign up needed. Refreshments provided but bring your own lunch.  Speaker: We are delighted to welcome Andy McCullough from the Unreached Network to speak at this event. Youth: There will be a separate conference for Secondary Aged Children called Gathered. Children: There will be activities for Primary Aged Children and a parent-supervised crèche facility. Children must be pre-registered by the 4th April to secure a place in the Children's Work. St Mary’s sits in the heart of West Rainton village and provides many functions such as Eucharist services, Weddings, funerals, Baptisms and community events We are a friendly and inclusive church with a wide range of worshippers all enjoying the traditional form of Anglican worship. As we are currently in Vacancy and do not have a Priest in Charge our clergy team consists of Julian Ward who is our Licenced Lay Minister and Mike Whitehouse as our Lay Minister. We do have several local Priests and ministers who are giving their time to assist us in worship. All the decisions about the Church are taken by the Churchwarden and Parochial Church Council within the guidance of the Church of England. We develop our own services such as Café Church, our Remembrance Day service, and our Village Carol Service. We would be delighted to see you at our regular Sunday Churchwarden is Kevon Edis and you can contact Kevon via the details on the left. For wedding, baptism and funeral enquiries please contact our Churchwarden, Kevon, using the number at the left, or see 'Our People During Vacancy' at the left for contact details. St Mary's Church, a grade II* listed building, has stood beautifully in the village for 160 years. The church plays an important role in the community life of the Parish of West Rainton and Leamside. Over the past two years we have raised enough funds and grants to repair both our stonework and knave roof.
