In this workshop you’ll be using various leaves, grasses or flowers, along with magazines for transfer prints, as I guide you through the step-by-step process of creating beautiful unique prints using a gel plate and acrylic paints. With stunning views over Christchurch Harbour, you’ll be in pleasant surroundings, in a relaxed atmosphere and creating lots of beautiful prints to take home and frame or use in other projects. It’s highly addictive and I’ll give you lots of inspiration so you can experiment with different processes to create beautiful monotype prints. Monday 20th April: Elizabeth Lammas presents: Mary Caroline Tyler, née Southcombe, a true daughter of Milborne Port who certainly did her bit to help bring the war to an end, mentioned in Debrett’s for her achievements. Though not in uniform as her siblings were, she ‘led a group of uniformed Wrens in Hut 7’ at Bletchley Park, but of course could not tell anyone that for 50 years! Her husband, Mr FL Tyler, was a veteran of the D-Day landings. A full and fascinating life. This is a repeat of the highly moving and engaging talk that Elizabeth and Caroline gave on 10th May 2025 as part of our VE Day Commemorations. It was so good that we are offering it again to those who missed it or for those who would like to hear it again!

Five Valleys Charity Motorcycle Run

The Five Valleys Run is Salisbury Motorcycle and Light Car Club’s first charity fund raising event for 2026. Starting from the Barford Inn at Barford St Martin on Sunday April and we will cover about 90 miles in total along Wiltshire and Dorset country roads. The concerts are free to attend, and will include an exploration of the soundscape of garden ponds; a Soundhenge sound installation situated on the garden lawn; and a series of musical performances featuring improvised shakuhachi, tape loops, Frippertronics and electronic keyboards. Performers will include Mosaicist with Geoff Hearn, Tim Cowie, James Osland, Andrew Heath, Grasslands, POND and Obelisks.
