At Birch Farm, we believe perennialfoods will play a crucial role in building resilient, biodiverse farming systems in the face of a changing climate. By integrating Food Forest principles and perennial growing systems into our existing market garden model—rooted in Natural Farming and agroforestry—we aim to inspire others to reimagine how we grow, cook, and eat. Over the past year (2025), we’ve been on a journey of discovery—experimenting with a wide range of perennial vegetables, collaborating with chefs, and learning firsthand about their potential in the field and the kitchen.
