They are assisted in no small part by a razor-sharp script from Rashida Jones and Will McCormack, the duo behind smart comedy-drama Celeste and Jesse Forever. It also features a vibrant score from Devonté Hynes (aka Blood Orange) that ups the tension, and is handsomely shot on 35mm by The Studio cinematographer Adam Newport-Berra – his nimble camera keenly exploring the shifting energy between the characters. It’s a perfect exercise in probing the insecurities that lie hidden beneath the surface of a seemingly happy relationship. STCW Elementary First Aid is one of the four compulsory commercial modules required to work on vessels covered by the STCW convention. It is internationally recognised and covers CPR, breaks & splints, bandaging, drowning and hypothermia and much more. Our instructors are career professionals in the medical world and are serving paramedics in most cases. We choose them carefully to ensure they have specific seafarer knowledge as well as extensive experience in their field. The course conforms to “Regulation VI/1, paragraph 1 and Section A-VI/1, paragraph 2.1.1.3 of the STCW Convention and Code 1978, as amended”. In accordance with IMO rules, this course has no expiry date since it is considered the certificate holder will be acting as an initial responder under the guidance onboard ship of the holder of a more advanced Medical First Aid certificate. (Please note that if the Elementary First Aid qualification is used as part of the requirements to be in charge of a vessel working in the MCA Small Craft code or similar it should be renewed every 5 years.) Almost 600 rescued horses and ponies have lifelong care at The Mare and Foal Sanctuary. This means they’ll live the rest of their lives at one of our peaceful reserves, or with a dedicated Sanctuary at Home carer who understands their individual needs. Around 120 rescued equines are homed at our four Sanctuary sites across Devon. They live in herds in beautiful fields, as close to their natural environment as possible. These equine nature reserves are havens of tranquillity, allowing our horses and ponies a safe space to recover and grow stronger. The Sanctuaries are not open for members of the public to drop in, but we welcome prebooked small group visits on specific days throughout the year. These visits are more personal and informative and aim to help you discover a special connection with nature and with the horses and ponies that live here. At Coombe Park Education and Equestrian Centre near Totnes, you’ll spend 1.5 hours with our team members discovering more about our rescued equines and the life-changing work we do to heal and rehome horses and ponies across the Southwest. We’ll explain our daily tasks in looking after them and you’ll meet lots of our four-hoofed residents to learn about their heart-warming stories and achievements. Together we’ll explore this beautiful site and find more horses and ponies at liberty in the paddocks.
