Printmaking (Wednesdays for Fourteen Weeks)

A self-directed, untutored, and collaborative printmaking day, suitable for those with some experience of printmaking. Our members use a variety of techniques such as linocuts, collagraphs, drypoint, woodcut printing and aluminium etching. These sessions will provide the perfect space to work together sharing ideas and exploring these methods further. This class is a natural progression from the Falls Prevention class to maintain your fitness, technique and connection (+ social time). A free 24-week NHS programme to help reduce the risk of falls and improve balance, strength and confidence. Run by Elder Tree Active Lives, these evidence-based classes are for people aged 65+ who have experienced a fall or feel unsteady. GP referral required. Includes refreshments and social time after the class.

Flowers in Watercolour and Coloured w/s Pencil - Inspired by Charles Rennie Mackintosh (One Day Workshop)

Inspired by Rennie Mackintosh’s work the course aims to focus on composition by drawing free, loose line to ‘dip and draw’ with water soluble coloured pencils and delicate watercolour washes. Exercises to guide your hand and eye into creating this will produce a series of beautiful well designed paintings and drawings where space, transparent colour and light delight the well composed flower designs. You will learn a lot about watercolour pigment strength and brush control. Bring a small arrangement of flowers and jug.
