Great British Car Shows Presents: Japanese Cars

Great British Car Shows Presents: Japanese Cars on June 7th : Toyota are still making cars in Derbyshire and Nissan are still a major manufacturer in the UK. We celebrate them alongside Honda who made such a major contribution to keeping Triumph and Rover alive. Whilst the mighty-midget Mazda MX5 and the sublime Subarus are track-day favourites, Isuzu and Suzuki don’t need Corolla celebrates it’s 60th birthday with the ‘futuristic’ Subaru SVX turning 35. A £15 pre-paid ticket gives you entry to the Museum as well as 3x £5 vouchers to redeem against the café, merchandise or driving experiences (given on the day). On the day entry in an eligible vehicle is £15 per person , but you don’t receive redeemable vouchers. As these are linked events, any make of car over 20 years old can also take advantage of the above offers for any event! For eligible vehicles – kids under 15 go FREE . (Vouchers valid for the event day only. No change given on vouchers.) Along with the themed cars and other exciting classic cars that will be on show in the car park through our “Linked Events” scheme you can also enjoy the display of over 150 British Classic Cars in the Museum to enjoy too. The Filling Station Cafe will be open as usual serving great coffee, drinks and snacks. Open Farm Sunday at Handley Farm

We wholeheartedly welcome you to book to join us for the morning or afternoon to hang out with our Handley Farm goats, stroke, brush, walk, feed them and watch them being milked, walk round and speak with our community garden volunteers, hear from our beekeepers and see their demo hive, watch the wonderful derbyshire weavers weaving from our own sheeps wool, go on a vintage tractor trailor ride around Shottle with our neighbouring farmer Bill who will tell tales of local farming, join us for games, demo kidding, a bite to eat, drink and general farm fun! We may not have our baby kids arrived by Open Farm sunday, but if not, you can see how wide our wonderful pregnant goats will be by then and enter the competiton of guess how many goat kids each will give birth to!! The Bull Shed, our on site restaurant, will be open for drinks, food will be available from the grill and there will be plenty of cake! A selection of british ancient grains and associated pulses and pastas from Hodmedodds, honey and a selection of cheese will be available to purchase from Grumpy Farmer Goats Cheese. Tickets to attend our Open Farm Sunday event are £3 per person and include free parking. Any profit made from the event will be going to Handley Care Farm CIC. Open Farm Sunday at Croots Farm Shop

Join us for a free fun-filled day out for the whole family! Discover the story behind our food and how farming impacts our daily lives through live demonstrations, nature walks, machinery displays and the chance to meet adorable farm animals up close. Here are the details of some of the activities you can see on the day:- Shire Horse Dray rides around the fields Our 3rd Dog Show Talks and demonstrations on how we look after our sheep with Kay Croot and Farm worker Tim Parker together with a sheep shearing demonstration with our regular shearer Bernard – get up close and feel the sheep fleeces plus demonstrations with the team from Scarsdale Vets who support us to look after our flock Demonstrations and a chance to chat with Farmer Jim Yates about how we look after our Shire Horses plus a Blacksmithing Demonstration with our farrier Mark Butchery demonstrations with Butchery Manager Justin and his team – have a go at making sausages and learn about where we buy our meat from Static farm machinery displays including a chance photo opportunities with a chance to sit in a tractor Supplier tastings and stalls Competitions and games (including garden games, welly wanging and guess the weight of the lamb) BBQ with our homemade burgers and sausages and Bluebell Dairy ice cream Face painting and story telling Animal petting farm with Ash End Children’s Farm About this farm: Farnah House Farm is a 72 acre sheep farm producing lamb for our farm shop and we also keep Shire Horses.
