Swingin’ at the Movies Join Dr Jazz and the Cheshire Cats big band for an evening of movie magic as we head back to the heyday of the Plaza with themes and songs made famous on the silver screen. Including classics from the Cotton Club, James Bond and the Pink Panther, as well as more recent favourites from Austin Powers, When Harry Met Sally and the Incredibles. With two fantastic vocalists there’ll be hits from the likes of Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Ella Fitzgerald and Judy Garland, bringing back the sounds of the Golden Age of Hollywood. 6A relaxed and family friendly service for parents with young children. Based on Godly Play, the service begins with a song in the chancel before one of the children leads us through to our 'special place' for a story (told using wooden figures and simple scenery). The story is followed by a short time for prayer and then 'the feast' which comprises a biscuit and drink for the children. We then go back to the chancel for two more songs (usually noisy with instruments), after which the children have themed craft in our newly restored meeting area. There is a chair lift available for wheelchair users. Adults have tea, coffee and biscuits while their children engage in craft activities craft, although we encourage them to get stuck in as well.
