Beacon Edge sits quietly in Cumbria where the hills keep watch over a community that knows how to wind down. We don't have a long list of venues right now, but the local pubs and village halls are always ready for a quiz or a bit of drama. It's a place where the air is crisp and the neighbours are happy to chat about what's on later. There isn't much noise in this corner of the country, yet there is plenty of life in the community centres. You can find family fun days popping up near the school gates or catch a local band rehearsing in someone's garage. St John the Evangelist

St John's Skirwith is part of the East of Eden Mission Community. Only completed in 1859, English Gothic in architectural style, known as the “Little Cathedral of the Fellside” and where the father of John Bradburne was the parson; Skirwith is a very different church to most of its neighbours!
