Roll the Dice - Games Night (13+)

New regular weekly event Featuring tournaments and terrains Fridays 6.30pm-10pm Roll the Dice bring their tabletop sessions to The Basement in Helston! These sessions are perfect for anyone looking to play tabletop games with their friends in a warm and supportive environment. Open to players from 13+, all you need are your models and an opponent – we will provide the mats and terrain! £5 for non-Basement members, £3 for those with a membership. Parents please note: For any under 16s, we will be requiring written consent and safeguarding forms to be completed, outlining expected code of conduct during the sessions and for under 16s to be collected before 9pm. For 16+ we will be requiring information on how they are leaving the sessions safely, if after 9pm. What do I need to know? Who is The Basement for? The Basement isn’t just another youth centre – it’s the space you asked for, designed by you, built for you. The space is primarily for 13-18 year olds. Your basement. Your rules. Your future starts here. I need dropping off in a car. Where? The Basement is in Trengrouse Way pay and display car park. Do I have to book? We have a limited capacity and booking means we can guarantee you a space. You can still turn up on the day and, if we have room, you’ll be able to come in. What is access like? We have level, step-free access from the car park into the building as well as accessible toilets.

Growbaby

At Growbaby we provide good quality, new and second-hand, baby clothes (up to 5 years), toys and equipment, completely free of charge, to anyone who needs it. There is no need to be referred to Growbaby, everyone is welcome, regardless of income, background or faith. Simply come along and chat to one of the Growbaby team who can help you choose any clothes and equipment from our storeroom that you might need. This term we are trialling a new system where we limit storeroom visits to once a term (exceptions for emergency need for nappies, shoes, coats etc). This is to try and make sure everyone who needs to access our storeroom has the chance to do so, and to make sure we can give everyone the time they need. Ideally, if you can email us before the session to ask for a slot in the storeroom and let us know what you need, that helps us to manage our time, but don't worry if you can't! Alongside our storeroom we run a fun and friendly playgroup for 0-4 year olds and their parents/carers. Our sessions involve free play 10- 10.45, snacks and then we always end with music/song time. We provide healthy snacks for little people and delicious homemade cake and coffee/tea for grown ups. Please do stay for this, we would love to get to know you. Parking is limited in Islington Wharf, so we recommend finding nearby street parking if possible. If you do park in Islington Wharf, please make sure you get a free parking permit from us as soon as you arrive to avoid a parking ticket.

Squidlets

Squidlets is a friendly and fun group for 0-4 year olds and their parents/carers run by Falmouth Vineyard Church. We aim to offer energetic sessions to stimulate little minds and encourage creative play in an environment where exploration and mess is encouraged (think gloop, mud, paint, water and more!). The session always ends with a music/song time around 11am. We meet every Thursday during term time at the Princess Pavilion's in Falmouth. The sessions run from 9.45am – 11.15am. We meet outside (under cover of the veranda), only moving indoors in extreme weather! There are always a couple of new activities each week for the children to explore. Things can get messy so do wear old clothes. You may want to bring a drink and a snack for your little one. Coffee and cake is available (and highly recommended!) from the Pavilion's café for parents/carers. Why not bring along a reusable cup with a lid - it helps reduce waste and is safer for your children. The group is run by volunteers from Falmouth Vineyard Church. We are passionate about supporting parents and seeing kids thrive. We don't charge for our session, as we want to ensure Squidlets is accessible to all and we see it as an expression of our love for the community.

We run Growbaby Calm on every Friday mornings of the month, 10-11.30 am. This is a new group for parents/carers of non-mobile babies (up to about 6 months) and parents-to be, offering friendship and support.
