Passage sits snugly in Cornwall where the sea air keeps you honest and the local pubs do their best to keep spirits high. With no big venues on our doorsteps, the town relies on its community spirit and regular gatherings that draw crowds from nearby villages. We find the best bits by asking around at the local shops or checking what's coming up in the village hall. It's a place where neighbours know each other's names and you'll usually find something to do without needing to scroll through a dozen screens.

What to expect at a Sunday gathering A warm welcome at the door followed by a brief shared time of musical worship, after which children go to their groups. We then have notices, stories and a short talk, followed by more sung worship and a chance to receive prayer. Coffee is available throughout, with sweet treats and chat time at the end. We are relaxed and informal, with a value on being real. It is also quite OK to sit at the back and only engage with stuff if you feel comfortable doing so.

We will begin by mind-mapping all the things we love about certain colours. Children will choose a colour swatch they are drawn to and write a poem based on it. Afterwards they can paperclip the swatch to the poem and display this on a board within the library highlighting the creativity of families in Plymouth.The drop in nature of this workshop allows families to come and go as they please, fitting in with their day to day routine. It is open to children of any age and the activity can be adapted to facilitate this. Your drop-In hostAs one of the organisers of 'Sound: Plymouth Poetry Festival', Poppy uses that platform to support the local community. She nurtures spaces where everyone can find their unique value within creativity. Poppy has facilitated workshops for children at The Box, schools, woodlands and on Dartmoor, working with The Poetry Society, forest school leaders and Plymouth Poetry Festival 2024. Poppy has worked in schools, specifically in Speech and Language and SEN, for over fifteen years. She holds a DBS, a BSL Level One and a degree in Primary Education.
