We’ll experiment with paper cutting, watercolour and collage, taking inspiration from poetry, art books and a wonderful selection of creative resources that I’ll bring along, including my own sketchbooks. Your ticket includes a concertina sketchbook and a selection of materials to get you started, with plenty more to explore throughout the session. There’ll be lots of time for making, chatting and sharing ideas in a welcoming, gentle atmosphere—perfect whether you’re looking to spark your creativity or simply enjoy a few hours of relaxed art-making. Please bring: your own watercolour paints and some collage papers. Everything else you’ll need will be provided. The 2026 Square Deal

When: Saturday 19th September 2026 Where: Mariners Gallery, Norway Square, St Ives, TR26 1NA Time: 10am (sale begins) Price: £60 per artwork The “Square Deal” is back for another year! Our annual fundraising art sale takes place at the Mariners Gallery in Norway Square. During this one-day event, visitors and collectors can purchase original square paintings created by talented member artists for just £60 each. All proceeds go towards the maintenance of our historic building. All artwork will be available to view in the gallery in the week before. The sale begins at 10am and anyone looking to participate will be invited to queue outside. Paintings will be sold on a first come first served basis, one painting per person, and gallery staff will be there to guide you.
