From 7:00pm to 09:30pm, the Regency Ballroom will be the place to be as we hit the dance floor with great recorded music for Ballroom, Latin, Sequence and party dancing as well as special performances from our brilliant students! It's also a special evening as we'll be holding our medal presentation, celebrating the fantastic achievements from our last round of exams – so get ready to cheer! Students, be sure to invite your friends and family along; everyone is welcome to join the celebration. We’ll get everyone moving with tuition in some easy dances, and follow it up with a delicious buffet. So, pull out your favourite summer outfits and come ready for a brilliant night of dancing, proud moments, good food, and great company. It’s the perfect summer get-together – don’t miss out! Join us for a lively evening with the Celebration Barn Dance Band, featuring a live Ceilidh band and an experienced caller! We are thrilled to present the Celebration Barn Dance Band this year, bringing together the best of traditional barn dance music and modern energy. With their infectious rhythms and expert guidance, you’ll be on your feet in no time, enjoying dances that are as fun to watch as they are to participate in. Don’t worry if you’ve never tried barn dancing before. Our friendly caller will teach you all the steps, making sure everyone is part of the fun. This event is a fantastic way to socialise, meet new people, and enjoy a night of dancing in a relaxed and welcoming environment. Whether you’re coming with friends or making new ones on the dance floor, the atmosphere will be buzzing with excitement. Need a breather? Our fully licensed bar offers a great selection of drinks to help you stay refreshed throughout the evening. Regency Christmas Social Competition

Location: The Regency Dance Centre Ltd - Regency Ballroom, Market Place, Sutton in Ashfield, Nottinghamshire, NG17 1AQDate: 06 December 2026 12:00 amThis event is run for social competitors who love to dance and to provide them an opportunity to showcase their skills without pressure. We invite dance schools to come and have fun in a relaxed and friendly competition that is still run in a professional and structured way. The competition will be run at The Regency Ballroom which is an authentic Ballroom in the heart of Sutton-In-Ashfield that features a large wooden spring floor, We also have a fully licensed bar and we will be serving a selection of hot and cold food over the day. Kim, Chris, and Andrew have successfully run open competitions for several years as well as attending many competitions on the Open, Medallist and Social circuits. We hope to bring our years of experience running highly successful events so that social dancers can get the same opportunity to dance whilst still keeping the focus on the social aspect of the event to make an enjoyable competition for all!
