Our Feast of Midsummer celebrates midsummer, when the days are longest and nights are warm and fair... weather permitting! There will be an opportunity to wander the gardens from 7pm, with a three-course Greek feast being served from 7.45pm, and an opportunity to dance the night away from later in the evening. There will be plenty of choice for vegans, vegetarians and carnivores.

Letter Stone Carving Workshop

During this one-day beginner's letter cutting practical workshop in stone, you will learn from tutor Will Spankie the art how to draw, mark out, and carve letters in a piece of Portland stone. Using hand tools we will concentrate on the practical aspects of cutting the letters, as well as how to source the stone and tools, chisel sharpening and finishing the letters we carve. Although hand lettercutting is a skill which takes years to master Will aims to give people what they need to start that journey. All materials you use during the day are fully sustainable, and included in the price.

Stencil & Gold Leaf Tray Workshop

This one day workshop is a great introduction to the craft of stencilling, and by the end of the day you will be taking home your own hand-crafted stencilled gold-leaf edged tray. Experienced painter, decorator & heritage crafts instructor Simon Nobs will lead the day, and with his expert supervision, you will embark on creating your own decoration for the tray using the stencils and paints provided.
