Join us at Trelissick for a Nos Lowen to celebrate National Meadows Day and the National Trust’s Cornish Coastal Meadows Project. With Cornish folk musicians Salt and Sky leading the festivities, put on your flower crown and take to the dancefloor to honour the coastal meadows we care for. Nos Lowen, meaning ‘Happy Night’, is a style of Cornish-Celtic dance where simple traditional Cornish dances shine - making it perfect for the whole family to join in. Similar to a Scottish or Irish Cèilidh the event celebrates community, folk music and movement. Make sure you get dressed up in your brightest floral clothing inspired by joy and ready to move. Cornish musicians Salt and Sky are known for their infectious energy and the playful sense of fun they bring to Cornish folk music. They’ll be leading the Nos Lowen in Trelissick barn from 4.30 – 6.30pm with a brief interval. In the interval we’ll hear from National Trust Rangers and the Cornish Coastal Meadows Project team to hear about the importance of Cornish meadows, how we nurture them and how you can do your bit at home before Salt and Sky lead us in another round of dancing, movement and joy. Tickets for this event are free but, to guarantee your place in the celebrations, please book your tickets in advance.
