About this event
Join us on the first Friday morning of the month for fun, informative Gardening Workshops in our Studio at Old Barn Garden Centre. Growing your own plants from seed is an excellent way to increase your plant stock, and a vital skill for vegetable growers. Most seeds are easy to propagate, but good technique will improve success and keep the workload manageable. In this morning workshop we will have a go at sowing a variety of seed types, practise pricking out, and learn lots of tricks and tips to produce sturdy young plants. You will learn about: Choosing seeds Germination requirements Seed compost, vermiculite and perlite How to sow large, medium and small seeds Pricking out seedlings Seedling care Hardening off and planting out The Venue: Our very own studio space is set within the grounds of Old Barn Garden Centre, Dial Post, South of Horsham. Our dedicated space for courses, is a light airy and spacious place to learn. The Group: Jenny teaches in small groups which ensures everyone gets the opportunity to practice, and time to ask questions.
