There’s a strange comfort in Ulrika Spacek’s dissonance, since emerging from the shadows of a creaking East London house known only as “KEN,” the band has quietly built a reputation for turning existential inertia into sound.Formed in 2014 by Rhys Edwards and Rhys Williams, Ulrika Spacek began as an insular project and has remained defiantly self-contained with the addition of Joseph Stone, Callum Brown, Syd Kemp and Rhys Jenkins.Debut album The Album Paranoia (2016) introduced listeners to a meticulously crafted world of off-kilter melodies and enveloping drones. It was followed by Modern English Decoration (2017), a critically acclaimed second LP that pushed their sound into more refined and textural territory.
