Explore textiles through text, stitch, and personal expression. In this guided workshop, participants will be introduced to a range of hand-stitching techniques for incorporating text into fabric, including appliqué, iron-on fusible bondaweb, satin stitch, and couching. We will explore different ways of working with words, letterforms, and mark-making through thread, using a variety of materials and approaches. The session also considers how text can function within textiles as a way of holding meaning, memory, or personal language, while remaining open and experimental. Participants will be encouraged to work with their own chosen words, phrases, or ideas, allowing the piece to develop through a process-led approach. Using scrap and reclaimed materials, the workshop will focus on building texture, composition, and rhythm through stitching. You will be supported through demonstrations and guided experimentation, with space to work at your own pace. Suitable for beginners as well as those with some experience, this workshop offers a relaxed and supportive environment. By the end of the session, you will leave with a finished textile artwork. Date: Thursday 16th July Time: 19:00 - 21:00 Price: £40 Book Here
