Quantum Theatre are back with an enchanting new adaptation of two of Beatrix Potter’s best-loved Tales, The Tales of Peter Rabbit and Benjamin Bunny. Peter and his naughty cousin Benjamin know very well that they are not to go into Mr McGregor’s garden, but they cannot resist and soon they find themselves in all sorts of scrapes, caught In a net, trapped by a snarling cat and face to face with Mr McGregor himself! How will they ever escape? Can Old Mr Bunny come to the rescue in time? And whatever will Mr McGregor make of all those footprints in the flower beds? Michael Whitmore’s charming adaptation will have you spellbound so why not grab the kids, a blanket and a picnic and join Peter and Benjamin on their hair-raising adventures – a magical afternoon of fun for all the family. Through practical exercises, improvisation, and scene work, learners will build confidence, develop vocal and physical expression, and explore their connection to their identity as a performer. Your tutor will support you throughout, tailoring the session to suit your experience and goals. Please be aware there will be a 1 week break on Tuesday 9th June 2026 due to the summer exam schedule at Brockley Rise Centre.

Handknitting – complete beginners to improvers

This 4- week course will either teach you how to knit from the basic first steps, and to work on your first project or it will allow you to develop your existing knitting skills. You will be encouraged to work with a range of materials and to have fun being creative in a supportive group. Topics will include stitch patterns, experimenting with colour work (that may include fair isle knitting & intarsia), circular knitting and knitting lace, equipment use, pattern reading, individual project work and professional finishing. Learners with greater experience will be encouraged to work on a more complex personal project- and this could include making a pair of socks or a shawl, as examples.

Paediatric and Adult first aid (summer)

If you work with adults or children and want to make sure you know what to do in an emergency, this one-day intensive Paediatric and Adult First Aid course will teach you everything you need. As well as gaining an insight into health and safety regulations, you’ll learn how to manage an incident and perform resuscitation. You’ll gain the confidence to deal with an unconscious adult or child casualty and learn about the recovery position, shock, bleeding, injuries to bones, burns, scalds, eye injuries, choking and more. If you pass the course, you’ll receive a certificate for Adult or Paediatric First Aid issued by First Aid First, which is approved by the Health and Safety Executive. This is valid for three years.
