Green Doctors are free, impartial energy advisers who will be offering support to Southmead residents, feel free to just drop-in. They can offer you help with: Understanding bills, tariffs and energy costs Reducing energy use Accessing schemes like Warm Home Discount Applying for debt support, white goods, or fuel vouchers Guidance on funded home improvements (smart meters, solar, heat pumps) Residents may receive free items such as: Fuel vouchers Energy monitors Lightbulbs Humidity sensors Thermometer cards Draught proofing Information packs All advice and energy‑saving items are free.

In ‘Just One Thing’ Michael Mosley said, “Because Tai Chi is a mix of exercise and meditation, your brain gets a workout too – leading to better brain function. It improves heart health and has even been shown to boost your immune system.” Tai Chi has its roots in China of 2000 BC. Time has proven it can ease the body, calm the mind, and create a feeling of balance and harmony. If this sounds interesting to you, do come along and try out this slow mindful sequence of movements and experience the benefits for yourself in this friendly and fun class. Cost: sliding from £7 – £10 About Karen: I have studied Tai Chi and Chinese martial arts since 1983, and I began teaching in 2004. I have taught all ages from 6 up, but my particular interest is in how Tai Chi can benefit our health and wellbeing as we grow older. Horizon Disability Friendship Group

Horizon Disability Friendship Group is for adults with a learning or physical disability, and their friends and family. Join us for a variety of activities for all ages and abilities including board games, games consoles, arts and crafts, music and dance, occasional social outings, and educational workshops. The group is led by experienced and caring volunteers who are committed to creating a safe and inclusive environment for everyone. We believe that everyone deserves to have the opportunity to participate in activities that they enjoy, regardless of their disability. That’s why we offer a variety of activities that are accessible to people with all types of disabilities. Membership subscription is £1 per week to be paid on the night.
