This is the first session of an ongoing series focused on various aspects around the formation, structuring, and maintenance of a local Assembly. We are learning by doing, so your inputs and experiences will help shape things to come. What is FREE? The Free Forum for Real Economic Emancipation is a community of neighbors, organizers, and thinkers—founded by economist Clara Mattei and based in Tulsa, Oklahoma—working to understand the economic and social systems that shape our lives and to build new ones rooted in care rather than control. Margate Textile Society meeting

Weekly meetings around the love of textile techniques, materials, styles, meanings, socio-political impact and potential for change and healing whilst honing and sharing timeless skills. No previous experience required. Bring your project or start one here! Tools, supplies, and support available. Donations of fabrics and yarn always appreciated. Drop-in £5 or £15 monthly, including refreshments [cake, teas and juice]. No one turned away for lack of funds. Free of under 18 or over 65. Ph: The first quilt is coming together! Two hundred and fifty of the about 1,000 fabric hexagons needed for this classic paper-pieced English quilt are now ready, as more hands join in to stitch it together. This beauty will be auctioned in support of the Weaving an Axis of Resilience: Manar, Daughter of Palestine initiative next September.
