About this event
The aim of this course is to introduce players to Nage-Waza Ura-No-Kata (Forms of Counter Techniques to Throwing). This kata focuses on the principles of countering an opponent’s throwing techniques through correct posture, timing, movement, and the effective use of balance and momentum. Nage-Waza Ura-No-Kata consists of a structured series of counter-techniques, demonstrating responses to common throwing attacks using hand, hip, foot, and sacrifice techniques. The course provides an excellent opportunity to develop a deeper understanding of counter-throwing principles, tactical awareness, and their application within randori, competition, and self-defense. This is a British Judo Association Licensed Coach Education Course and is worth one credit. The course is limited to 20 places due to the size of the tatami. Eligibility requirements: Current FULL BJA membership Minimum grade of 3rd Kyu (Green Belt) Participants are ideally encouraged to attend with a partner to practice with; however, we will endeavor to pair up individuals where required. Further information available from: This is a British Judo Licenced Coach Education / Revalidation Course
