Multi award-winning vocalist, Jacqui Dankworth MBE, revisits the music of the seminal British albums "Shakespeare and All That Jazz" and “Wordsongs”, composed by her father, Sir John Dankworth, and recorded by her mother, Dame Cleo Laine. Jacqui draws on her own intimate and lifelong familiarity with this genre-defying music, as well as her experiences as an actor working with the Royal Shakespeare Company and the National Theatre. The programme features Jacqui Dankworth on vocals, accompanied by pianist Charlie Wood, and their world-class band of musicians, performing settings such as “Shall I Compare Thee To A Summer’s Day”, “Fear No More The Heat O’ The Sun”, the story of Macbeth told via “Dunsinane Blues”, a comical tongue-twisting roll-call of Shakespeare’s complete works, as well as a few surprises along the way! The genius of Shakespeare’s poetry, the brilliance of the musical settings, and Jacqui’s virtuosic and spellbinding vocals, all combine to create a unique and unforgettable concert event.
